Verona's 11 song debut full-length record, "Rumored to Whisper Suspicion"', will take you down. Before you get a chance to think about it, it will bring you back up,but in the process, swirl you around in every possible direction. It begins with "Matador, Liver and Liquor the Bull", a smooth and poppy rock song which almost encompasses the feeling of the whole record in one song, as if it's a warning to what you are about to experience, yet soothing you at the same time. Matador is followed up by "Rabbits Run First", a dissonant rock song showing the opposite end of this band's diverse songwriting. The record continues on with songs about love actualized and dispossessed, interjecting "Circumpolar Wave" into the mix, which begins with somber undertones that build to a crescendo of epic proportions. The record continues on with much diversity, pulling influence from many genre's of music including, rock, emo, and blues, finishing up the record with a second epic entitled, 'The Wake'. Verona's singer, Kyle Logghe explores a great range of vocal ability and lyric writing that will make you swoon, accompanied by a variety of interesting guitar sounds, a seamless rhythm section, and beautiful orchestration.
